Hello, hello, Fellow Musers! I apologize for the late Shout Out post! I meant to have it ready for yesterday (Jan. 31, 2025), but time got away from me this week! We have some new subscribers who joined us last month, and they have been eagerly awaiting their Shout Out. Please join me in welcoming these Fellow Musers to this small-yet-ever-growing corner of Substack!

Thank y’all so much for subscribing to Musings of an Anthropology Student! I hope to see y’all in the comments and the Chat-but no pressure! If something I’ve written has sparked your curiosity and you have questions or thoughts that you’d like to discuss, just not in the comments or Chat, feel free to email me from the post that you received via email, and/or DM me.
Thanks again for joining, and I send many Hearty Huzzahs your way!
I don’t really have any updates this time around. Say whaaaat?!? I know, it’s shocking-I can practically hear y’all gasping! Could this be the short Shout Out post that y’all have been waiting for?!? Somebody get the celebratory shit out-we gotta paaaartaaayyyy!
I do, however, have a sneak preview of the upcoming Artist’s Corner post I’m working on that should be released in February, as well as the beginnings of Part 2 of the Winter Holidays post!
Artist’s Corner Preview
No, this preview is not a joke. Yes, the artwork that will be the subject of this upcoming Artist’s Corner post was inspired by the song Unwritten by the fantabulous Natasha Beddingfield.
Hell no, you ain’t gettin’ a preview pic of the artwork. Ya gotta stay tuned for that!
Musings Holiday Special #2: Winter Holidays-Part 2

You know, I’m having a hard time finding holidays/festivals/celebrations for February on an international level. But then I remembered: Substack let’s writers see where their subscribers come from. It doesn’t tell writers who comes from where, but it does give me a subscriber count when I mouse over the countries. Sooooo, you, Fellow Muser, are now my inspiration for finding holidays celebrated in February and March worldwide! Without mentioning any specific countries in this post, I will celebrate y’all by looking for a holiday/celebration/festival for February as well as March that is specific to your country. Last post, I did Northern and Southern Hemispheres-this post, it’s gonna be nations (or countries/states within nations if you contact me with a specific area in mind)!
You, Fellow Muser, You are the reason that this Substack is still going in Year 2. This is my way of continuing to say Thank You for staying on even when I don’t keep my suggested posting schedule. I hope to do y’all proud! If you have a specific holiday in your country-either home, adopted, both-that you would like mentioned, please let me know via comments, DM’s, email, etc. As I said in Part 1, Part 2 should be available by the end of February or the beginning of March (when I say beginning, think possibly first 10 days of March).
Once again, thank you to Paul, Ammar, Christina, Jos, Larry, and Lavi for joining this substack! Thank you, Fellow Musers, for keeping me as part of your reading list!
Nalia and Salem: Yeah, thanks furr keeping us on your reading list! We kitties loooove the attention! We’re not spoiled enough!
Hooman: That last sentence is a lie!
Nalia: What is a sentence?
Salem: But a jumble of words!
Hooman:
Carpe Diem, Huzzah, and Purrzahz!
