Well! That was a mouthful! Well done, Kimber! Different thoughts kept running through my head b/c you checked off so many boxes. First off, thank you for the shout out and link, very kind. Next--it always drove me mad when people would ask at the bookstore what books told about the aliens helping the Maya build the pyramids. So I well understood your feelings on picking up your Uber customer, at least he tipped well, haha. Interesting stuff here--along w/ your geo-archeologists (no hyphen though, right?) I discovered a few years ago archeo-astronomy, a more famous personage being Anthony Aveni, who holds this title. All in all- well done!! Keep on doing it, girl! And hope your busy busy summer is near an end, and you can at least have a little downtime. Felicidades! And all that jazz!

Thank you for your feedback, Jeanine! I'm so glad that you enjoyed reading it, despite the length💞Even before I read your piece, I read the title and I knew that I would have to fit it into this post, somehow. So I'm also glad that it was delayed a bit longer, lol. I honestly didn't intend for this piece to be as long as it ended up being, but I'm also not sure if I could've shorten anything, you know what I mean? I did read it over several times to see if there was something that I could cut and add to the Behind-the-scenes piece I have, but except for a few small word edits, it felt right to keep everything that made was there in, haha!

Oof, I'm glad that I'm not alone in my frustration with people trying to box archaeology with aliens. I admit that it's fun to imagine, but I draw the line when it become a serious line of thought.

I'm not sure about the hyphen, to be honest. Even though I didn't put one in, it probably wouldn't hurt to do it in the future, to be honest. Also, I'm glad that you mentioned archeo-astronomy! No idea about the hyphen for that word either, but now I realized I missed the chance to include that area in this post🤦‍♀️🤣 Oh well, adding it to my mental notes for a future post! I will also look Anthony Alveni up😄

I hope that your summer is also going well, Jeanine! Thank you again for reading this, for your support, and your feedback! ¡Hasta la próxima amiga!💜

Anthony Aveni (no L) is listed as an anthropologist in his CV, but when I wrote Maya 2012 Revealed, info I found on him titled him archeo-astronomer. Maybe because he was intent on finding pyramids and buildings that coincided with equinox and solstice. He’s written a few books and cool he’s actually an anthropologist!!!
