What a cool drawing. I love how the wing colors differ. Also, I feel like I've been in a cocoon for decades while also being aged 100+ years. I like your attitude about it. We all have different life circumstances, and it's okay that our life path isn't stereotypical at our age. I got to see a lot of butterflies this summer. To me, they're what is close to godliness.

Agreed-a ‘little’ tweaking and rethinking about what a life path looks like would hopefully help us and societies change expectations. A “butterfly effect” if you will of change🦋

Yes! A good kind of butterfly effect! ;-) :-*

I feel ya on the aging years-on one hand it sucks feeling more decades than you look, but on the other hand you’ve got an outlook on life that is yours and that you can share with others who may be going through something similar💞

I love seeing butterflies in the summer-I haven’t seen too many, but there’s a good amount where I work. I also admit to liking moths-despite their cloth-eating reputation. It’s interesting how some moths resemble butterflies. I’m just remembering it now, but I believe the caterpillar I talked about turns into a moth after it cocoons, lol

The upside is that I look young for 200+ ;P. lol But yes, it is nice to share info with others and support each other in difficulties. Oh how lovely you have lots of butterflies where you work. Are there a lot of flowers around? Some moths are disturbing, but others indeed look like butterflies. And speaking of the caterpillar. The one in today's post is so adorable. I want to pet its head. lol

Yas, I wanted to pet that little caterpillar bean...and I also have the urge to call it Sensei!

Great piece, Kimber.

It was very interesting reading about the different symbolism of the butterfly.

I have never really thought about what butterfly’s mean to me, but the rebirth/transformation thing, seems pretty fitting.

Thanks :)

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Michael!

I’m with you about the rebirth/transformation idea as well. I honestly hadn’t given much thought to the cultural symbolism of the butterfly either until I decided to write about it from that perspective for this post. It was fun to learn about and then be able to share it!

I love how there is so much to dissect here, Kimber!! Such a beautifully written analysis that is very interesting but also very wise and something that I know I will come back to when I need more perspective on life and simple reminder that it's never too late to come out of that shell and become that beautiful butterfly in my life. Thank you so much for your beautiful words 💚
