Thanks for writing this, Kimber. I hope it was healing for you. That was a really hard time when Salem lost all her newborns. I’m glad she was already living with you so you could be there for her. I know she felt safe and loved by you.
It was a hard time for all three of us, but especially Salem. I hated having her in that crate, even though it was a safe space for her and the kittens, and eventually when both ladies got spayed. I’m also glad that she was already living inside with me when she had her newborns, even though she was very resistant at first. The moment that I knew she was truly happy to be with me was when I came home from work one day and found her on my bed, sleeping specifically in my spot, lol💞
It was very healing to write this story out. I had considered not posting it, but once I started writing the girls’ versions a few months later I realized that it might be good to just go ahead, post it, and make it a mini-series. I figured a year after the events would be a good time to do it :)
